A native of Lima, Peru, Isidoro Korngold co-founded Intercontinental with John Kauth in 1981. He holds a Master of Urban Studies degree from the School of Art and Architecture at Yale University and a Bachelor of Science in Economics from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. Prior to the formation of Intercontinental, Isidoro had a distinguished career with the Peruvian Central Bank. He also held high ranking positions in finance, banking, and research institutions in South America, Washington, D.C. and other U.S. cities.

He served as a Professor of Economics at the Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos in Lima and as a Professor of International Trade and as a professor of Marketing, International Trade and Money and Banking at Trinity University in San Antonio. Isidoro was recently profiled in Authority Magazine.

The son of a naval aviator, John is a graduate of Texas A&M University and a non-practicing Certified Public Accountant. Prior to co-founding Intercontinental, John served as Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Transworld Financial Services Corporation where he was responsible for financial matters including lease financing and credit approval. Before that, he was an Assistant Vice President with First National Bank of San Antonio.

An avid golfer, John co-founded UTSA 24, an organization that provides significant support for the women’s and men’s golf teams at The University of Texas at San Antonio. John is active on the boards of the Cancer Therapy and Research Center Clinical Foundation, the Center for International Studies at Texas A&M University, the Alamo Colleges Foundation and Golf San Antonio.

John has authored numerous articles on international investment for state and national business publications and, when asked, enjoys speaking as an expert on international economic matters. John was recently profiled in Beyond Exclamation Magazine and featured as one of the Top 10 Most Influential CEOs to Watch Out For in 2021.

Charlie joined Intercontinental in 2005 as Director and Chief Operating Officer. Previously, he had enjoyed a thirty-five-year banking career, with his last position being President and CEO of Bank One’s Central and South Texas Region. In July 2013, he became President of Intercontinental.

A graduate of Trinity University and the Southwestern Graduate School of Banking at Southern Methodist University, Charlie has been active in many facets of community life in San Antonio, serving as Chairman of the Boards of Trustees for the University of the Incarnate Word, the Alamo Heights Independent School District, the YMCA of San Antonio & the Hill Country, the San Antonio Symphony, the Ecumenical Center for Religion and Health, and the World Affairs Council of San Antonio. He currently serves on the board of United Way of San Antonio and Bexar County.

A native of Lima, Peru, Alfredo serves as Principal with Intercontinental and directs all trading and research activities. A Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), he chairs the Investment Committee and oversees the Portfolio Management process. His team blends intellect and experience in the creation of investment portfolios. Known widely for his skills, Alfredo is able to attract some of the best and brightest to our organization.

Prior to joining Intercontinental in 1994, Alfredo served as Chief Financial Officer for Hermes Inversiones S.A., a group of marketing services companies in Bogota, Colombia. In Lima, he held the position of Project Manager for Grana y Montero Empresarios S.A., a subsidiary of one of Peru’s largest construction companies.

Alfredo holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the Pontificia Universidad Catolica del Peru. In addition to the CFA designation, he also holds a Master of Business Administration and a Master’s of Science in Civil Engineering from The University of Texas at Austin.

Kenneth Korngold, who joined the firm in 2001, grew up in San Antonio. Upon graduation from The University of Texas at Austin with a Bachelor’s in Business Administration, Kenneth worked as product development and research specialist at Probursa International on Wall Street. He later went on to obtain a Masters in Latin American Studies from New York University and a Master’s in International Affairs from Columbia University.

In his spare time, Korngold plays a supporting role with numerous museums and art galleries, and often participates in art fairs. As an “art aficionado” and self-declared “design junkie”, he enjoys collecting works from emerging talents, as well as mid-century modern Latin American and European furniture designers and architects.

Howard joined Intercontinental in 2018, bringing 20 years of diverse banking experience, including leadership roles in the international and domestic sectors. Early in his career, Howard managed Bank of America’s Military Banking operations in England and Iceland. Before joining Intercontinental, he spent the previous 10 years of his career leading the Private Banking division in prominent Texas banks, giving him enhanced insight into the needs of high-net-worth individuals and families.

Howard holds an MBA in International Business from The University of the Incarnate Word and an undergraduate degree in Spanish from the University of Texas at Austin. Howard is a life-long resident of San Antonio and graduated from Alamo Heights High School in 1994. His pride in his hometown is evident in the leadership positions he’s held in numerous nonprofit and educational organizations. Howard currently serves as a Vestry member of St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, a member of the University of the Incarnate Word Development Board and an advisor for Child Advocates San Antonio’s capital campaign. He was recognized as a 2011 San Antonio Business Journal “40 under 40” award winner. Howard is a member of Leadership San Antonio Class 35.

Together, Howard and his wife, Jody, are members of Founders Council and Golden Circle at Texas Biomedical Research Institute. They have served as Witte Game Dinner Chairs and on steering committees for the McNay Museum Spring Fundraiser, the Zoo Ball and the Red and White Ball. Lifetime members of the Texas Exes and the Longhorn Foundation, they are members of the Founders Group for Young Texans Against Cancer.

John Hennessy holds a Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC®) designation as well as FINRA Series 6, 7, 24, 53, 63 and 65 licenses, in addition to his Texas Insurance License. After receiving his B.B.A. in Finance from UTSA, John joined USAA’s Investment Management Company where he built his career and honed his skills in wealth management and retirement planning. Shortly after joining Intercontinental, John added an important facet to our product line by building our Intercontinental Insurance Agency (IIA). The addition of insurance products and life insurance to an existing investment portfolio protects our clients and their families, as well as their heirs, for generations to come.

When not serving his client’s needs, John loves spending time with family and friends, fishing, hunting, golfing, cooking, traveling, and enjoying all that life has to offer.

Marissa joined Intercontinental in 1996. She oversees day-to-day business operations, including client services, back office operations, financials and personnel for the firm.

Marissa earned her BA in Human Resources and a MAA in Applied Administration from the University of the Incarnate Word. Marissa is married and has a son. She and her family enjoy traveling and being outdoors. Marissa previously served as a parent volunteer on the executive board of Central Catholic High School’s Athletic Booster Club and now serves as a volunteer with Central's Parents of Alumni Club.

SaVion Harris joined Intercontinental in the summer of 2021 after graduating from the University of Texas at San Antonio with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Finance. He currently helps manage client assets as a Financial Advisor, working to truly understand clients’ situations, goals, and dreams – helping them envision their future and then take the steps to make it a reality. He has attained his Texas Life Insurance license as well as his Series 65 Uniform Investment Adviser Law license.

During his time at UTSA, SaVion was a student-athlete as a member of the football team and had dreams of playing in the NFL. He joined the UTSA Alumni Association Board of Directors in 2023, becoming the youngest member to ever join the board. In February 2023, SaVion was named a 'Top Black Rising Star of the Year' in Wealth Solutions Report's Pathfinder Awards, recognizing Top Black Industry Leaders of 2023 in honor of Black History Month. He was instrumental in bringing about one of the first “name, image and likeness” (NIL) deals in the financial services industry, as Intercontinental entered into an NIL partnership with UTSA football star Rashad Wisdom in late 2021.

Outside of the office, SaVion enjoys playing golf, working out, listening to jazz, trying new food, and spending time with his Pocket Bully, Chanel. In the future, he plans to travel around the world and would like to build a school for underprivileged children in a poverty-stricken community.
